“Due to the lack of new projects, I foresee a 30-40 percent drop of the market compared to the second quarter last year. In the first months of the year, there was stagnation from our point of view, because of last year’s contracts. However, with no new contracts signed, things will worsen,” according to the Managing Director of the top IT services provider on the local market, S&T Romania, Bogdan Cocora.
The only areas that could cancel this downturn are EU funds available for public administration and small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), according to the CEO of IT service provider Romsys, Horatiu Berdila. In the first quarter, some market segments plunged by up to 30 percent, and this trend is likely to be maintained, he added.
