J’Info Tours: Number of tourists will not decline due to crisis
“The tourism market is impacted mainly by oil price variations. Thus, the price of airline tickets has risen, road transportation is affected, and accommodation prices are higher. I do not think the number of tourists will decline, because these travels are a necessity for today’s people,” J’Info Tours General Manager, Carmen Pavel, said.

Pavel, who is also one of the agency’s owners, added that the strategy of J’Info Tours is focusing on lower fees, to attract more clients. For 2008, the company estimates up to €35 million worth of business.

In the first nine months of the year, the travel agency posted €23 million in turnover and a 4.9 percent profit margin, due to higher employee efficiency. “Sales for the summer season made up a 30-35 percent ratio in the agency’s turnover,” Pavel added.
A further 25-30 percent of the company’s business is to come from sales for the winter season, with its main destinations Egypt, Cuba, Jamaica, Spain, Great Britain, and Austrian ski packages.

The top players on the local tourism market are Happy Tour, Eximtur, Paralela 45, Aerotravel, Marshal Turism, and J’Info Tours.
