January sees 22.6% rise in optional pension assets

To date, the seven funds operating on this market have secured a total 59,076 subscribers.

The market leader in terms of subscribers is AZT Moderato, managed by Allianz-Tiriac Pensii Private, with 15,167 clients and assets exceeding €900,000. A second fund managed by Allianz Tiriac, AZT Vivace, has secured 12,593 clients, and assets worth €470,000. This high risk fund registered a 40 percent monthly increase in assets.

The BCR Prudent fund, managed by BCR Asigurari de Viata, is market leader in terms of net assets, at €2.1 mln for 11,520 subscribers. Aviva managed Prima Pensie fund registered the most significant increase in assets, at 48.2 percent, up to €281,000.

According to the current legislation, people younger than 52.5 years may subscribe up to 15 percent of their gross income to an optional private pension fund.
