“Winston and Camel had record sales. After the global acquisition of Gallaher, we launched new products on emerging market segments: Glamour and Benson & Hedges on the Premium segment and Sobranie of London on the Prestige segment,” said Gilda Lazar, Corporate Affairs Director at JTI Romania.
JTI plans to consolidate its position on the local market in 2008, by strengthening the Prestige and Premium segments. The company also intends to invest in human resources. Lazar said employees will benefit from bonuses and professional and personal development training.
The company sold 7.5 billion cigarettes in 2007, posting turnover worth €368.3 mln, 40 percent higher year-on-year, and profit worth some €14.5 mln.
The cigarette maker’s portfolio includes the Camel, Winston, Monte Carlo, Winchester, More, Salem, Glamour and Mild Seven brands.
