“There is increasing interest of foreign investors in other cities, apart from Bucharest, and those travelling across the country require brands such as Marriott or Hilton, to provide them with the same conditions as in Bucharest or abroad,” Shonn told Business Standard.
He added that cities with an international airport are the ones that most need five-star hotels. In Bucharest, at least five five-star hotels and ten four and three-star units should be built in the near future.
The Kohl&Partner official said that, when deciding where a hotel should be built, authorities should make a plan for a longer period of time, and consider the future development of the city. “In Austria, or Germany, projects take into consideration the next 15 years,” Shonn added.
Other hospitality consultancy companies operating on the local market are Trend Hospitality, Peacock Hotels, and Fivestar Hospitality.
