The northeastern Romanian producer located in Pascani had a total €32 million investment budget, with a current investment program worth €12 mln to modernize its swine slaughterhouse, and to build a pre-packaging unit and a cold meats storage facility. The company’s production capacity currently amounts to 30 tons of meat per day.
Poultry producer Avi-Top, another company of the Kosarom group, has an annual 6,000 ton production capacity, and has invested €20 mln so far. Avi-Top plans to invest a further €20 mln in the coming five years to set up new poultry farms.
The group also includes the Agricola Tg. Frumos and Suinprod Roman companies. Kosarom is operating in all meat production areas, from fodder production to animal breeding and meat processing.
The Romanian cold meats production market amounts to some 200,000 tons per year, worth some €700 mln, according to data from the employers’ union in the field.
Main companies in this sector are Cris-Tim, Aldis Calarasi and Campofrio.
