LukOil Romania, the local subsidiary of the Russian oil group and one of the largest companies on the local market in terms of turnover, will not increase its IT budget, as the company’s activity is directed towards lowering operating expenses. CrisTim, Romania’s largest cold meat producer, with an estimated €125 million in consolidated business, will not modify its IT investment level in 2009.
Raiffeisen Bank Romania, the third-largest lender in Romania in terms of assets, has an IT budget of some tens of millions of euro, a significant part of the company’s total budget. The 2009 IT budget allocated by Lafarge, a major cement producer on the local market, to Romanian operating units is 17 percent higher year-on-year.
Valentin Tomsa, General Manager of the SAP Romania software producer, said that in difficult economic times companies should first invest in software which will provide them with a clear image of their cash flows.
