Leasing promotions double sales

More than 1,000 Romanians bought a car through Romstal Leasing in October, which raised the company's monthly sales to some €40 million.

"October 2007 marks a double record. We have surpassed the 1,000 contracts in one month threshold and at the same time doubled the value of financing from €19 million in September, our best level yet," said Ionut Chirila, Marketing Manager of Romstal Leasing.

Romstal Leasing registered 4,883 contracts worth €172 mln in the first ten months of this year, up 44 percent year-on-year. Cars account for 41 percent of the company's portfolio, commercial vehicles for 27.5 percent, utility vehicles for 15.5 percent, motorcycles for 1.4 percent, equipment for 8.2 percent, and buildings for 6.3 percent.

Results registered by the company exceeded by 60 percent initial forecasts announced for October of €25 mln.

Promotions were also launched by other companies, including BCR Leasing, Motoractive Leasing, and Porsche Bank Group.

The value of the local leasing market is to reach €4.3 mln in 2007, a 32 percent annual increase, according to Kerem Sekizyarali, President of the Leasing and Non Banking financial services Association.
