Leonardo targets €200 million in turnover

Gratian Ivan, Commercial Manager of Leonardo, says the company plans to expand its network and launch a new Da Vinci brand, for customers with average and above average incomes.

The company posted €143 million in turnover in 2007, for Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova, 64 percent higher year-on-year.

Net profit for Romania was €3.6 mln, over 30 percent higher than in 2006. Leonardo owns 204 locations, of which 146 are in Romania, 55 in Hungary, 2 in Bulgaria and one in the Republic of Moldova. Ivan added that by the end of 2008 the company will open a further 40 stores in Romania, 12 in Hungary, 3 in Bulgaria and one in the Republic of Moldova.

Leonardo’s strategy targets expansion in large commercial centers, such as malls, hypermarkets and retail parks. Ivan added that the company plans to expand to new markets, such as Ukraine and Turkey.
