“The Central Bank wants to attract all excedent. However, the amount attracted will probably be smaller than that of yesterday. It would seem that BNR wants the end of the year to be easy to manage, without any holiday problems,” according to a declaration to NewsIn by Ciprian Mihai, Head of Volksbank Romania’s Treasury Department.
The national currency was quoted at RON 3.5240/€1 in the opening of Thursday’s session, a level similar to that Wednesday evening, following which the leu depreciated slightly to RON 3.5360/€1, against a backdrop of relatively low volume of transactions and slight volatility, added Mihai.
