Last year, the company sold products worth €104 mln, 51 percent higher than net sales in 2006, surpassing initial estimates of €100 mln. LG will focus on the LCD TV, plasma TV and mobile phone segments in 2008.
The company has a 24 percent market share on the LCD monitor segment for personal computers and estimates a significant rise in wide screen equipment in 2008. It also plans to increase its portfolio on this segment.
LG has a 31 percent market share on the local plasma TV market and 16 percent of the LCD TV segment, in terms of sales.
Also, its market share for audio systems is 23 percent in terms of sales, 40 percent for microsystems, 22 percent for home cinema systems, and 40 percent in digital data storage systems.
“Demand for electronics and household appliances has increased significantly in the past few years, above our expectations, especially on the LCD TV segment. Our forecasts show that this segment will continue to rise in 2008, while the others will stabilize,” said Han Khyu, LG’s President, for Mediafax news agency.
