“We cut costs as much as we could this year. This September, for example, cost us less than half compared to last year. Any further reduction would be dangerous, because it would affect our business when the markets bounce back. We hope this will not be a W-shaped crisis and, starting from the premise that we have already reached the lowest point, we plan to gain a few percentage points in market share for each of our products in 2010,” Andrei Sulyok, General Manager of Lindab Romania, specialized in metallic construction materials, told Business Standard.
“For next year, we doubled our marketing budget and are prepared, as of March 2010, to acquire smaller enterprises, competitors who are facing financial problems,” Sulyok added. According to him, Lindab has a shortlist of 20 companies considered for acquisition in various countries in which the company operates, including Romania.
