Linklaters could close the Bucharest office

London-based Linklaters law firm, one of the top three players in the world in terms of turnover in 2007, plans to close its offices in Bucharest, Bratislava, Prague and Budapest, according to market sources for Business Standard, who indicated that the offices could be closed within the first six months of 2008. Representatives of the Prague London offices declined to comment on the information.

Michael Tetreault Schilling, who managed the Bucharest office until April 2007, has not confirmed nor denied the information. “I have not heard of such strategy. The business is working as usual,” he said. Schilling coordinates a regional Linklaters department.
