List of 12 companies who dared set up 11 MW of wind turbines

The crisis has led to a postponement of a major portion of projects worth millions and even billions of euro, announced either by international energy giants, investment funds, or entrepreneurs with loads of cash, say all specialists on this market. “Investments to install the approximately 11 MW in Romania are insignificant, less than €11 million, because for the most part the turbines installed to date are second-hand, and those who entered this market are minor investors,” explained one of the experts. The companies who had the courage to invest in wind energy are Holrom Renewable Energy Satu Mare, Electrogrup Energy Maramures, Green Energy Grup Bucuresti, Hydro-Wind Power Timis, Ecoprod Energy Buzau, Electric Prod Bistrita-Nasaud, E Market Cluj, Blue Line Energy Bistrita-Nasaud, Electro Margo Line Bistrita-Nasaud, Ileximp Bistrita-Nasaud, Pirotehnic Vaslui, and Servoplant.

The potential in Romania also attracted many turbine producers. Recently, the German Siemens giant, one of the main international producers of wind turbines, announced its intention to become involved in this business, worth several tens of billions of euro. The Siemens announcement comes after its main global competitors, including American General Electric (GE), Spanish Gamesa, Danish Vestas, and Indian Suzlon opened offices in Romania, participated in auctions, and are taking orders. The largest wind project is still the 600 MW one announced by the Czech CEZ company for the southeastern Dobrogea region, which will require investments in excess of €1 billion.
