Some 12 percent of the 18 million voters made a choice regarding their representatives to the European Parliament by noon today, Bucharest being the city with the lowest vote attendance in the country, according to the central electoral bureau.
Central county of Harghita was the area where most of the people voted by 1 p.m., according to the electoral bureau which said some 18 percent of all voters here attended the ballot. The referendum for the introduction of the open-party ballot drew some 13 percent of the voters by 2 p.m., according to the electoral bureau.
Bucharest residents had a low voting presence in the open-party ballot referendum. Eastern counties of Vaslui and Vrancea led the league as 12.88 percent of the voters stamped yes or no on the voting bulletin asking them if they agree with the introduction of the open-party ballot in Romania.
