Tampiza added that sales operated in the more than 300 gas stations exceeded 800,000 tons, up five percent year-on-year, though the company’s total sales dropped four percent, to 1.48 million tons of fuel.
The firm posted some $80 mln in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) in 2008. “For 2009 we are expecting a less favorable situation,” said Tampiza. He mentioned that he is considering an average price of oil of $50 per barrel for this year, and an average exchange rate of RON 2.95/$1.
