Luxury boat market worth €10-15 mln

The luxury boat market is expected to grow in the coming years, as increasingly more marinas are built and owners have space for their yachts, according to Set Events General Manager, Bogdan Craiciu. Furthermore, a culture of nautical sports is being developed in Romania, as such sports are no longer for high income people only.

Currently, there are three marinas in Romania - Marina Mangalia, Port Ana Yacht Club and Marina Limanu, the latter to be inaugurated on 30 May. All these marinas are located along the Black Sea.

Among luxury brands displayed at the Romanian Boat Show are Atlantis, Azimut, Pershing, SunSeeker, and Cigarette. The most expensive boat was the Pershing 43, costing €830,000, and boats displayed at the fair had a total worth of some €30 mln.

The fair started on Wednesday in front of Bucharest’s Parliament Palace and will end on Sunday.
