Malacopol, Digital Cable Systems: I expect triple play to dominate the business

“If, at the time, more than half of the business comes from television services, I expect triple play to dominate the business in the near future. I believe that, at present, offers do not really work on the market without triple play, and the most important element of the service packages is the video service,” the company’s General Manager, Dinu Malacopol, told Business Standard.

The company, which is presently supplying landline phone services for companies, will launch services dedicated to the residential segment as of the second quarter of 2009.

Malacopol said that mobile phone operators present on the local telecom market will be forced to include television services in their service portfolio. Vodafone Romania launched a common offer with the Boom TV operator last year. A similar partnership was developed by Orange Romania and the UPC cable service provider briefly, at the beginning of 2008.
