Managers request new mayor to improve infrastructure and traffic

The owner of Tender SA group, Ovidiu Tender, said the next mayor should follow the Viennese model, “a city the size of Bucharest, very well managed and where 70-80 percent of the population uses public transportation.” Traffic is also a problem for Automobile Bavaria’s Marketing Manager, Ciprian Bercea.

Traffic jams are moving towards the capital’s center, as more overpasses are being built in northern Bucharest. The city lacks adequate parking areas and projects announced by City Hall are becoming increasingly less realistic, as higher land prices are deterring investments in this segment.

Unirea Medical Center’s (CMU) Managing Director, Wargha Enayati, also said that infrastructure development is essential, “especially Bucharest’s ring road, its subway, and roads for bicycles.” He added that the city center should be closed to traffic and access permitted only based on a fee, as is customary in in several other cities. “Only buses should be allowed in Bucharest,” Enayati added.
