Mapei planning €20 mln in business in 2010

“The adhesives and mortar market will exceed €600 mln in 2011, three times the amount of 2006. Our numbers are still low, but considering the market’s dynamics and the fact that only 10 percent of our 800 products are sold in Romania, our target is to reach €20 million by 2010,” according to a statement to Business Standard by the Mapei Romania’s General Manager, Vasile Brad.

Mapei products have been sold in Romania since 2005, and in 2006 the company opened a branch. Total sales in 2007 amounted to €6 mln, double year-on-year.

For 2008 the company intends to expand to the Republic of Moldova and increase turnover to €9 mln.

The company’s main competitors are Henkel and Baumit.
