“The total new construction equipment market in 2007 included 2,671 units, of which Marcom sold 790, according to statistics by the Association of Construction Equipment Distributors, which indicated that Marcom is first in terms of sales of construction equipment, with a 30 percent market share,” reads a company communique.

Besides the some 800 pieces of Kumatsu brand equipment, for which Marcom is authorized distributor in Romania, the company sold a further 250 tower cranes and auto cranes. Equipment sold by Marcom on the local market includes bulldozers, excavators, loaders, handlers, compactors and crushers.

Main competitors on the local market, valuated to be worth €350-400 million, are Marcom, Terra Romania, Autoconstruct, Liebherr and Powertek. The spectacular growth of the construction market has led to its doubling in the past two years.
