Medical equipment leasing up to €20 mln

Medicredit Leasing is the major player in the medical equipment leasing field, with a 30 percent market share, according to company officials.

“It is difficult to make an estimate for medical equipment leasing, because many leasing companies are involved with a wide portfolio, machinery, industrial and agricultural equipment, etc., and not only specialized financers,” Stanciu said.

The rapid market growth is due to a booming private health service sector, in which both doctors are opening private practices and investors are diversifying operations in the field, according to Stanciu.

Main medical equipment suppliers locally, General Electric and Siemens, have indicated that the local market is worth some €150 million and is increasing 30 percent annually. The figure includes acquisitions by the private sector and state-owned institutions.
