Medisystem Romania company, owner of Euroclinic hospital, the first private hospital in Romania, is to invest €5 million in five new clinics in the country over the next few years. The company’s General Manager, Catalin Popa, said €1.2 million will be used to modernize Euroclinic and expand the existing clinic in Bucharest.
Furthermore, the company plans to buy several private medical services operators, but studies so far show they do not have good quality standards.
Medisystem plans to sell the business in Romania and is negotiating with Western investors to sell the majority share package of Medysistem Hospital, owner of Euroclinic and the clinic in Bucharest. Popa said the company plans to close a deal by the end of the year.
Medisystem, controlled by Dutch group Eureko, posted turnover worth €3 million in H1 2008, 60 percent higher year-on-year and estimates 44 percent turnover increase this year, to €6.5 million.
