The company will have a chain of hotels, bed and breakfasts, vacation homes, a network for the sale of boats and fishing equipment, and a ClubLife, whose club members will have access to all of the services. “The idea is that if you become a member of the Delta Dunarii Club you can visit the entire region on the water,” according to a statement for Business Standard by Mihail Marcu.
Although he did not wish to divulge the amount invested in NauticLife, he did say that he had acquired major tracts of land in the Delta over time, some of which will be used for construction.
The Marcu Family already owns a hotel on the Danube, in the Bulgarian town of Vetren, through the Bulgarian EuroClub company, which it took over last year and which is presently being renovated. A mere 20 km from the Romanian city of Calarasi, Marcu plans to organize regattas and various nautical competitions along the waterfront.
The company will import 80 boats in April costing €1,500-50,000.
NauticLife is preparing to build vacation homes in the Danube Delta and a bed and breakfast in Isalnita in 2009. “We will build 50 wooden vacation homes in Murighiol and Dunavatu de Jos. The one living-room, two-bedroom homes will look out over the water, and be available as time-shares. The price of a home will be about €50,000,” added Marcu.
