“The increase in MedLife’s turnover at a pace significantly above the market’s growth rate is due to the willingness of patients to invest more in quality services, and to the general trend of replacing individual clinics with hospitals and clinics which provide integrated services,” said Ciprian Ciobanu, the company’s Sales&Marketing Director. The company official said that the business growth was also due to the corporate segment, which rose by an annual 85 percent.
At the beginning of 2009, MedLife representatives said they estimated net sales worth €31.5 mln for the whole of 2009, based mainly on attracting new clients. Moreover, the company budgeted a €5 mln investment for developing certain existing units and to open a new clinic.
In the near future, MedLife estimates that the Romanian private medical service market will register a spectacular rise if state co-payment for insured persons in the state medical system is introduced.
