Delhaize had 78 supermarkets in developing markets last year, and owns 22 Mega Image supermarkets in Romania. The company estimates that it will increase its holdings in Romania to 28 stores by the end of 2008.
Mega Image Romania had €75.4 million turnover in 2006 and €2 mln losses.
