As such, for real estate loans, the loan term has been extended 35 to 50 percent, provided the borrower is younger than 70 by the date of the loan’s final term of payment.
Furthermore, the down payment for real estate loans was reduced from 25 to 15 percent, meaning that the bank can finance up to 85 percent of the purchased property.
Non-real estate mortgages were also raised to €500,000 from €150,000, as long as the borrowed amount is less than 75 percent of the value of the collateral. The maturity of such loans was increased to 35 years, from a previous 30 years.
