“This drop was mainly generated by the effects of the crisis. Partially, the decrease can be explained through the fact that MOL Romania’s product portfolio included Eco Premium lead gasoline in the first quarter of 2008, which was withdrawn as of 1 April 2008. Without this portfolio reduction, the Q1 drop would have been only 3.5 percent,” the company’s Country Chairman, Zsolt Szalay, said.
Regarding the decline on the card-based corporate segment, the company official said that the current economic conditions “put unprecedented pressure on our clients. I mainly refer to the construction and transportation field. If we analyze the fuel market as a whole, this trend is clear for all players.”
