ANAF has a better offer than hypermarkets: you can buy laptops, desks, chairs, tools, and industrial equipment, tobacco, flour, jewelry, clothing and footware, cars, even a bakery or a shipyard. The goods are sold in auctions (13.1 percent in Q2), by direct offer (72.3 percent), or in the specialized ANAF-owned stores throughout the country (7.7 percent), near Public Finance Departments.
The Departments transfer the money to the state budget, thus covering part of the enforced receivables. The total value of goods confiscated in April-June is RON 9.6 million (some €2.25), according to ANAF data. Thus the total value of the goods put up for sale exceeded RON 17 mln (€4 mln), of which 32.5 percent were sold (RON 5.7 mln). The sharpest decline in sales in Q2 2009 compared to Q1 was registered by jewelry, at 48 percent.
