Representatives of the nine financial groups and officials of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the European Commission (EC), and BNR met yesterday in Brussels.
“At the end of October 2009, the exposure of mother-banks was largely maintained at the level registered on the reference date, in March 2009. There were a few situations in which the exposures dropped temporarily below the agreed level. These banks renewed their intention to take steps for meeting their commitments,” indicates a BNR statement.
The officials of Erste Group, Raiffeisen International, Eurobank EFG, National Bank of Greece, UniCredit Group, Société Générale, Alpha Bank, Volksbank, and Piraeus Bank stressed the need of having adequate investment instruments at their disposal.
