Mutual fund yields lower than stock indexes
Open investment (mutual) funds with placements in shares of companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) posted lower yields, compared to stock indexes, according to the latest reports.

In other words, if a novice investor made placements on BVB at the end of 2006, taking into account the stock exchange indexes, his yields would have exceeded those of placing money in the most profitable mutual funds. Placements in companies on the electronic Rasdaq market, although more risky, would have brought yields three times higher, compared to investments in mutual funds.

However, the most profitable mutual funds posted higher yields in 2007 than in 2006. KD Maximus was the most profitable fund in 2007, with a 29.5 percent yield, followed by BT Maxim, with a 24.17 percent yield. The yields of stock indexes amounted to 22.05-32.64 percent.
