“We will operate two new flights from Timisoara to Milan and Venice in March. Also, we are analyzing the possibility of operating internal flights,” said Alina Rus, Manager for Romania of MyAir, in a statement for Business Standard.
According to Rus, the prices for new destinations will begin at €50, taxes included. Last year, MyAir planes transported some 400,000 passengers to and from Romania, and the number could reach 650,000 in 2008.
Some 35 percent of total passengers travel business class. “We are estimating an increase of business class passengers of up to 15 percent in 2008, due also to internal routes,” added Rus.
The company has 7 180-seat Airbus 320 planes in its fleet and 19 102-seat Crj900 planes bought from Bombardier. The Italian carrier started business in Romania at the end of 2004.
MyAir is one of the companies that signed a contract with the Ministry of Transport to respect passenger rights, but was recently fined, with another 9 companies, for not respecting these very rights.
MyAir forecasts turnover worth €40 mln in 2008
