Myair to launch internal flights this year

The first routes considered are Bucharest-Timisoara and Bucharest-Cluj. Other destinations are likely to be introduced later on.

The Italian company had business worth some €30 million in Romania in 2007, 45 percent higher year-on-year.

By launching internal flights, Myair will become the main competitor of Hungarian airline operator Wizz Air, which is also to launch internal flights in Romania this year, with a Bucharest-Cluj flight costing RON 49 (€13.2).

The local low-cost market leader, Blue Air, last year decided to forego its to Bucharest-Cluj route, as this was unprofitable.
