For 2009, company officials forecast a lower growth rate, due to the financial crisis. The group registered a net profit worth CHF 10.6 billion (some €5.56 bln) in 2007, a 15.8 rise year-on-year.   

Nestle, which has been present on the domestic market since 1995, and currently has 950 employees, owns a factory in Timisoara, where it produces the Joe wafers, and the Nescafe 3in1 and Nescafe 2in1 products. Paul Nuber has been heading company’s local subsidiary for the past five and a half years. 

The value of the Romanian sweet market amounted to RON 817 million (€241 mln), a 25 percent annual increase, according to a study by the Nielsen market research company.
