New credit fund rolls into Romanian market, targets small companies, families
The fund had been active on the Romanian market through partner companies and had bestowed credits worth 49 million euros.

ESFE has been present on the market through Banca Transilvania, Banca Comercială Carpatica, ProCredit Bank, BT Leasing and Kapa Finance, granting some 5,375 micro credits.

Its financing portfolio in October 2007 stood at 357 million euros, versus 50 million euros at its establishing in 2005. EFSE estimates to grant credits to some 145,000 small companies by 2010.

The fund was created through programs developed in the European Union, with the help of the German Cabinet. Its mission is to support economic development in Southeast Europe.
