Catalin Grecu, the company’s Marketing Manager, said that the Grasa de Cotnari wine is its best sold product, making up some 30 percent of total sales. The Romanian wine market is estimated to be worth some €450 million, and this year’s growth rate is expected to amount to 15 percent. Cotnari has a 19 percent market share.
The most important producers on the market are Murfatlar, Cotnari, Jidvei, Vincon, Cramele Recas and Domeniile Tohani.
Cotnari plans to invest €10 million to plant new vineyards and acquire new equipment, modernize production units, and increase production capacity.
