The figure does not include either the business carried out by the NNDKP Consultanta Fiscala and NNDKP Consultanta in Proprietate Intelectuala firms, owned by NNDKP, or that of Link Resource, a pharmaceutical advisory company, of which the law firm owns 30 percent. The firm has 15 partners, of which 12 equity and three salaried partners, of a total of some 100 attorneys in three offices in Bucharest, Timisoara and Brasov.
Last year, NNDKP established the NNDKP Consultanta Fiscala firm, with a team it took over from the local branch of the Ernst&Young advisory and audit company. In 2008, a team of lawyers headed by Francisc Peli left NNDKP to establish their own law firm, Peli-Filip.
The international economic crisis has affected the business law market, with a drop in activities in real estate, banking&finance, mergers&acquisitions (M&A), and capital markets, leading to a rise in businesses, such as litigation.
The local business law market, estimated at €150-250 mln last year, is dominated by domestic firms, such as NNDKP, Musat&Asociatii, Tuca Zbarcea&Asociatii and Popovici Nitu&Asociatii.
