Nokia phones were best-sellers in Q1

The BlackBerry Bold terminal, made by Reasearch In Motion company, ranks third, according to a survey made by GfK market research company, quoted by sources on the telecom market for Business Standard. A total 244,000 phones were sold in March in Romania. In the total ranking of mobile phone sales, Apple is exceeded by Toshiba and BenQ-Siemens phones, among others. Nokia is also market leader on this segment, with a share exceeding 55 percent in the first quarter of 2009. In the monthly top five best-seller phones, it secured three places in each of the first three months. The Finnish producer is sharing the spotlight with Sony Ericsson. The year started with substantial sales for Nokia. In January, best-seller phones were low-cost 1680, 2630, and 2680 terminals land medium-price phone E51. Sony Ericsson K330i ranked fifth. Top three did not change in February.

However, two Sony Ericsson models closed the ranking. In March, Nokia had four terminals in the top five again. In the U.S., the BlackBerry Curve terminal became the best-seller smartphone, outranking iPhone, according to NPD market research company.
