November online recruiting down by an annual 15%

“This period of world economic uncertainty is affecting not only the job market, but also the online recruitment market,” Alexandra Dinca, Public Relations (PR) Manager of Bestjobs, told Business Standard.

Job offers plunged by an annual 36 percent in November 2008 in the real estate and construction sectors, by 21 percent in the metallurgy and light industries, and by 18 percent in the finance-accounting and administrative segments. Meanwhile, internet and media sector job offers grew 30 percent, while entry-level positions soared 41 percent.

The average monthly salary for jobs in the banking system posted on the Bestjobs site is €990.

Metallurgy is one of the best paid fields, at an average €1,950 monthly salary, compared to €450 offered by media companies.

“The salary level will evolve differently in the future, depending on candidate profiles, and will register rises on the highly qualified segment, and stagnation or decline on the average and below average segments,” said Dinca. She added that companies will become more interested in their intern potential.
