Number of new car registrations in Romania up 26% in the first ten months year-on-year

As many as 259,159 new cars were registered in Romania in this year's first ten months, up against the 205,544 units registered in the same period in 2006. Some 27,371 new cars were licensed in October this year, up 10.8 percent against the 24,705 units last year.

Dacia, Romania’s largest carmaker, owned by France's Renault, reached 139,658 Logan cars registered in this year's first ten months, 19.3 percent increase over the 117,000 cars licensed in the same period in 2006.

Volkswagen held the largest European market share in the first ten months, with 10.1 percent, followed by Opel (8.5 percent) and Ford (8.2 percent). Dacia held 1 percent share.
