Although the ninth month of the year is considered the perfect period for the audience returning to watch TVs after the summer months, September registered a mere 0.02 rating point rise, overall, compared to the previous month – in spite of the millions invested by TV stations in the new program grids.

For the market leader, Pro TV, October was the first month when the cold kept people in front of their TVs. The station posted an average rating in the urban sector of 0.5 rating points higher than in September (3.1 percent compared to 2.6 percent), while Antena 1 rose 0.3 percent compared to the previous month, to a 2.1 percent rating, from 1.8 percent.

According to data provided by the GfK Romania market research company, the Realitatea TV news station also registered a significant increase, to 1.2 percent in October from 0.9 percent, preserving its third place on the urban segment in terms of general ranking. The other news station, Antena 3, rose as much as Realitatea TV, namely by 0.3 percent, to one percent from 0.7 percent, but managed to climb to fourth place in October from sixth place in September.
