OMV, MOL, E.ON and GDF plan to import natural gas from Hungary

The pipeline will be built by Romanian state-owned natural gas transportation company Transgaz and Hungarian FGSZ Ltd natural gas transport company, a division of oil and gas group MOL. The gas pipe will allow Romania to diversify the foreign natural gas supplying routes and to reduce dependence on the Russian gas.

A tender for the transportation capacity on the Hungarian side is underway and the deadline was September 3. Negotiations will be finalized on September 15. In Romania, transport capacities will be granted to the first companies that showed interest.
