Considering that the job deficit on the local market is widening, and the number of unemployed is rising, applicants tend to send resumes randomly, hoping to have more chances of getting a job.
In reality, CVs that have no connection with the vacancy only make the job of recruiters more difficult, and in fact lower the chances applicants have of finding a job. “The number of applications for all vacancies, most of which are in sales, increased by at least 60 percent. Normally, at least 80 percent of these have nothing to do with the requested position, but there are also cases when the percentage is 90 percent, which makes the selection process so much more difficult,” said Florin Ochiana, Human Resource Operations Manager of Lugera.
“Compared to the period prior to the crisis, the quantitative increase is of some 50 percent, while the qualitative increase is insignificant,” said Ionela Pantea, Permanent Placement Consultant of Manpower.
The number of applications has also risen in the case of executive search companies. “For us, the number of unrequested CVs received has always been high, about 50 every week. This year, however, I believe this number has doubled,” said Madalina Uceanu, Executive Director of Aims Romania.
