By the end of Monday's stock exchange session, the cumulated capitalization of BVB and Rasqaq amounted to €28.56 billion, down €12 billion compared to July 15.
Before the July corrections began, 26 companies listed on BVB had capitalization exceeding €100 mln, compared to the present 21 companies.
The drop was felt more dramatically on Rasdaq, where only eight companies of the 23 companies managed to keep their capitalization above the €100 threshold in mid-July.
"To date, foreign money has exited the market, as a result of concerns related to macroeconomic issues and politics, and of turmoil on foreign financial markets. I think that current prices are attractive for those who had not yet decided to invest in Romania," according to the Deputy General Manager of brokerage company SSIF Broker, Adrian Caramiha.
The largest company listed on BVB is Petrom, with a market capitalization currently worth €7.78 billion, compared to €10.5 bln in July. Other major companies on BVB, with more than €1 bln in capitalization, are BRD Groupe Societe Generale, aluminum producer Alro, and lender Banca Transilvania.
More than 2,000 companies are listed on the local capital market, with the shares of 500 of these traded on a regular basis.
Only 29 listed companies have more than €100 mln in capitalization
