Orange Romania passes the 1 million mobile broadband client threshold

Its client portfolio rose 21 percent compared to Q1 2007, exceeding 10 million users, of which 1.047 million are clients of mobile broadband internet services. Orange doubled its client portfolio in the past three years.

The average annual income per user amounted to €126.7, the company said.
On the broadband segment, the increase in clients was 144 percent year-on-year, due to broadband network expansion, mobile data offer repositioning, and launching new complete internet access solutions.

“We will maintain our focus on expanding the broadband network and developing new services, including mobile phone, landline phone and internet services,” the company’s CEO, Richard Moat, told Business Standard.

Orange’s main competitors on the local market are Vodafone Romania, with 8.8 million clients, and Cosmote Romania, with 3.6 million clients.
