“We do not post profit from laptop sales, we obtain them at a good price from suppliers and manage to sell them to clients below market price,” said Orange Romania Mobile Data Proposition Manager, Bogdan Rauta.
Orange sold some 600 laptops since December 2007, when it launched the internet offer. The number of business clients for broadband services has increased 80 percent since January 2008.
The company’s 3G coverage currently reaches 300 cities, and it plans to raise this by a further 100 cities by year-end. Orange posted turnover worth €307 million in the first quarter of 2008, 8.4 percent higher year-on-year, while the number of its clients rose 21 percent.
