Malaele will be replaced by Dana Popescu, 41, as Orkla Foods Romania CFO, the company announced. The company is the local subsidiary of Norwegian group Orkla Foods.
This is the second major change recently in the company’s top management. Orkla Foods Romania, the local leader on the ketchup market, recently appointed a new CEO, Manuela Banu, who has been working for six years within the company.
The new appointments are part of a restructuring process the company is undergoing, after the producer registered a lower sales growth and profits year on year. Banu said recently that Orkla Foods Romania expects to reach its business and profit targets this year, following positive evolution in H1, although several market segments on which the company is operating slowed their growth rate.
Orkla Foods entered the local market in 2002, by purchasing margarine and sauces producer Topway Food. It has made several other acquisitions on the local market so far.
