Romtelecom posted a 7.1 percent drop in revenue, to €207 million, and a quarterly operational loss worth €1.5 mln in the first quarter. At mid-year, the telecom operator reported operational profit of €12.3 mln, due to the evolution in the first three months of the year.
“The main cause for the drop in revenue is a 12 percent decline in revenue for voice services, as a combined result of the 8 percent drop in ARPU and 4 percent in the number of lines. However, revenue for internet and television services rose substantially, by 37 and 71 percent, respectively, said Yorgos Ioannidis, CEO of Romtelecom.
The number of fixed internet clients rose 44 percent, to 725,000 subscribers, while those for TV services reached 780,000, up 48 percent.
