“Last year, we received an average several dozen resumes per job. We now receive a few hundred applications, and have active jobs for which over 1,000 candidates apply,” said Cristina Savuica, Managing Partner of the Lugera&Makler recruitment company.
The number of applications increased fivefold on the BestJobs recruitment website at the beginning of this year. Moreover, the number of people who created a new resume on BestJobs was 2.13 times higher in January 2009 compared to the first month in 2008.
According to BestJobs data, most job offers come from sales, trade, and IT (software and engineering). Unlike 2008, job offers in the financial sector dropped significantly.
