Balcescu targets a turnover of some €10 mln this year, 30 percent higher year-on-year, due to the increase in the events segment, which currently makes up one third of CMB Travel’s turnover. Profit in 2008 is estimated at some €500,000.
The travel agent’s President added that the business segment yields 73 percent of turnover, while the leisure segment makes up the rest. Some 86 percent of the outgoing segment is for business. “The most popular destinations are Turkey, Spain, Greece, Egypt, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Portugal, Croatia and Austria,” Balcescu added.
The services portfolio includes organizing events for companies, incentive trips (for employees) and vacation packages. Balcescu says that the Romanian tourism market is more active and mobile, due to interest of investment funds for travel services.
